7 Ways to Make Your Website
Stand Out From the Herd

I was interviewed recently for an article on website marketing for Stable Management magazine! The article describes seven great ways to make your website a more effective marketing tool. Here are my top three:
- Be Active: Don’t rely solely on the search engines to bring you traffic. Actively market your website!
- Focus Content: Be specific about the services you offer and describe what sets you apart from your competition.
- Make it Easy: Make sure it’s simple for anyone visiting your website to find your contact information! Also, provide an web-to-email contact form they can fill out and submit directly from your site.

I’m going to add a few others to this list as well since I visit so many equine and horse related sites every day.
First, the comment about making your contact information easy to find is essential. Dedicate one page on your site to tell people who you are. Give a first name, phone #, address, but also write a short paragraph about yourself and include photos of you or your horses.
The next piece of advice I have is to keep it simple, rather than going over the top or making it cluttered. I see a lot of horse breeders just adding stuff to their web sites and there’s no real organization to it. A simple design that makes it easy for people to find what they are looking for on your site is the best practice.
